Christmas displays such as manger scenes or fabulously decorated Christmas trees can be found in many communities. Visiting various Christmas displays year after year can be a wonderful family tradition.

New York City is renowned for extravagant Christmas displays. In fact, the first fully lit Christmas tree using electric lights belonged to Edward Johnson of New York who worked with Thomas Edison. From Johnson’s first tree adorned with electric Christmas lights, the tradition of using electric lights to decorate Christmas trees began.

The world’s largest living Christmas tree is proudly presented as a Christmas display in the community of Wilmington, North Carolina. It isn’t a standard evergreen; rather, live oak tree located in Hilton Park that is believed to be about 400 years old. The tree is adorned with lights and lit nightly during the holiday season making an incredible Christmas display.

Lincoln Center in New York City is home to marvelous Christmas displays with lighting ceremonies and incredible performances like the Nutcracker Suite by the New York City Ballet. Rockefeller Center’s Lighting Ceremonies are also spectacular Christmas displays in the city as is the lighting of the Broadway Holiday Tree in the heart of Times Square.

Another incredible Christmas display in New York City is the annual Holiday Laser Light Show at the Grand Central Terminal.

Naples Island in Long Beach, California is adorable amongst Christmas displays with its Venice-like canals, beautifully decorated homes and spectacular boat parade.
